"Trumpetonics" for Solo Trumpet (2025)
This is a piece I wrote for one of my music theory classes in university, while studying contemporary music. Specifically, the unit was about composer John Cage who wrote abstract music, including "4:33," a piece of pure silence, and another piece called "TV Köln." This piece takes inspiration from both of those, and the assignment at the time was to compose a piece in that style. It features an extended trumpet technique called Multiphonics, trumpet auxiliary noises (making a noise on the trumpet), and a lot of freedom for interpretation.I'm making this piece completely free to perform!
