อยากปฏิเสธ ทั้งที่ยังอธิบายไม่ได้ว่าทำไม – อ่านแล้วอยากเลื่อนผ่านเร็วผิดปกติ /กลับมาอ่านซ้ำหลายรอบโดยไม่รู้เหตุผล สิ่งเหล่านี้ไม่ใช่เรื่องรสนิยม และไม่จำเป็นต้องเป็นประสบการณ์ที่ดี ถ้าสังเกตว่ามีอะไรบางอย่างในตัวเราขยับขึ้นมาเอง แล้วตามมาด้วยอารมณ์ +เหตุผลที่อธิบายไม่ทัน นั่นพอแล้วค่ะที่จะบอกว่าจิตไร้สำนึกได้เริ่มทำงานไปก่อนหน้านั้น ภาพหนึ่งภาพ ไม่ได้ถูกออกแบบมาให้ทุกคนรู้สึกเหมือนกัน สัญลักษณ์ไม่ใช่ป้ายไฟแดง ไฟเขียว ที่ถูกสอนให้เข้าใจตรงกันทั้งสังคม สัญลักษณ์ทำงานต่างออกไป มันไม่ได้สื่อความหมายเดียว แต่มันปลุกประสบการณ์ภายในของแต่ละคนขึ้นมา สัญลักษณ์เดียวกัน อาจทำให้ใครบางคนรู้สึกปลอดภัย ในขณะที่อีกคนรู้สึกอึดอัด และบางคนอาจไม่รู้สึกอะไรเลย ทั้งหมดนี้ไม่ผิด เพราะการทำงานของสัญลักษณ์ ต้องอาศัยพื้นเดิมของแต่ละคน
